Dress? Flowers? Cake? Favours? Colours? Theme? I'm interested in them all! Even if they are only ideas at this stage put them in. If you have pics even better. I find all this stuff exciting.

Colors were brown & pink, and we used cherry blossoms as well. Heres a pic of our cake

I chose calla lilies for the bouquets

Our favors were a square piece of fabric that you can wrap things up in (they are traditional items in my husbands culture) and we used these boxes with cherry blossom paper to wrap them

I used the same cherry blossom paper on our invitations and programs. Instead of a guest book, we did a take on a Japanese custom of tying wishes to tree branches, in our case we used fake cherry blossom branches to make our "tree"

I was really happy with the way everything turned out. Whatever you decide, get a good photographer who can capture all the moments of the day- it goes by so fast you dont notice the little things!
I look forward to seeing what everyone else posts on this question.

Only planning the wedding now so none of this has happened yet. Having the whole thing in a hotel, ceremony, wedding and gift opening - much easier than planning 3 locations and they have centerpeices and flowers and they set up and tear down! Found a dress that makes me feel like a princess, strapless with a colored sash around the waist and really neat bunching. For favors we are making bath bombs and bath salts because HTB and I love our baths!! Cake I want is 3 layered, smooth white with a satin ribbon in our color lacing up the side.

My husband and I have been married for 30 years. I was a young bride (18), he was a young groom (19) and it was 1977. Ahhh...the 70's - an interesting decade. My dress was handmade by me with my aunt's help. Design was based on a dress I liked in a bridal magazine but had no hopes of buying anything that expensive. We pieced 3 different sewing patterns together to come up with it. It was white, sheer sleeves, straight floor length skirt. "Taffeta with a sheer overlay" - that's how it was described in the write up in the paper (we live in a small town, weddings were big news!). The lace across the bodice, along the wrists, at the hem, and on my veil, was a daisy design, hand sewn by my aunt. My chapel length veil was hand sewn to the headpiece that my own mother wore at her wedding. Flowers were mostly daisies and baby's breath - pretty yet cheap. Yellow roses are my favorite so my bouquet had white daisies and a few yellow roses. My cake was made by the same aunt who helped me with my dress (she was a home ec teacher). It had a water fountain sitting on the bottom square layer, 4 tall pillars topped with 2 round layers and completed by the traditional small cake to be saved for our first wedding anniversary (our dog got up on the counter and ate it after we took it out of the freezer to thaw while we were at work/school). My bridesmaids wore the same style dresses (straight, long, sleeveless with one-inch straps, covered with a matching flowered jacket) but in different colors. Each girl made their own dress or had someone make it for them. Colors were peach, light blue, pink, green, and yellow. No theme. I don't think that was done too much back then. No favors either. Our reception was held at our Rod and Gun Club, no caterers, all the food was made by relatives and friends, decorating was done by friends and family, too. All the traditional stuff of the time...cold cuts, American cheese slices, Hillbilly bread (do you have that where you live?), pickles, olives, baked beans, potato chips, veggie tray, crepe paper and tissue paper bells. All considered tacky, I suppose, by today's standards. No band, no DJ, just some friends and a cousin spinning records (yes, real vinyl ones) on the record player I had since junior high school. Pretty uneventful, really, but memorable plus we're still married! Oh, another thing, we waited to have sex for the first time until our wedding night.

We had a Fiesta theme wedding. My bridesmaids wore the traditional white blouse with the flowered lace around the top . The guys dressed in mexican attire. We served tacos, rice, and beans at the reception. The hall was very colorfully decorated with sombreros and other mexican decor. It was great because I didn't have to worry about any colors "not matching". We even saved money by using the colorful paper flowers instead of going through a florist.

We got married in Las Vegas and had about 20 guest come for the event.. We got married in a nice/small chapel. .Little Chapel the Flowers.. I wore a whitish dress with silver seed beading halter style... He wore a black tux...

We had a small reception at the former San Remo hotel/casino which featured EXCELLENT food ! Too bad now it's a HOOTERS casino... so needless to say we won't be going back there ! Our "wedding" cake was a giant tirimsu italian wedding cake.. It was awesome ! I DID NOT have bridesmaids.. I'm not a fussy traditional bride..

When we returned, we had a reception for those that didn't attend the wedding.. We had traditional hungarian food.. Stuffed cabbage, breaded pork chops, chicken paprikash and green beans, mashed potatoes/gravy... noodles...dumplings...

Our cake was white/white buttercream.. with a smooth finish but, NOT fondant.. It has words pertaining to our relationship written all over it.. "high school sweethearts, Live, LOve laugh etc.." Our floral arrangement were in casino buckets which we brought home from Vegas.. They were placed on top of felt cut-outs of playing card suites (diamonds, hearts, spades, aces etc..) We put poker chips, Vegas casino playing cards and dice on all the tables with fake money and confetti.. My card collector I made a slot machine complete with a pull bar and loose rolling "slots". It was covered in silver/gold mylar and I put a flashing light on top that worked ! I really wanted an Elvis impersonator but, he was too expensive.. I did have an Elvis cardboard cutout that people took pictures next to... It was a lot of fun and I can't wait to go back for our anniversary !!!!

I'm getting married next May. My colors are white, bright (clover) green and bright pink.

I don't have a dress yet, but I'm looking at mermaid-style dresses. The one I like best so far is this one: http://www.demetriosbride.com/us/index.php?page=collections_search&arg=902

My bridesmaids will be wearing clover-green dresses from Davids Bridal. I'm letting them pick whichever style they like best.

Flowers - My bouquet and my bridesmaids will all have calla lillies. My flower girl will have a carnation pomander (a hanging ball) - the carnations make it look super frilly and ruffle-y. My centerpieces will be tall square vases with black polished rocks in the bottom and a couple of long pretty bamboo stalks. We'll alternate - half the tables will have bamboo stalks, half will have calla lillies.

Cake - we haven't ordered it yet, but it's going to be white cake with bavarian creme filling. The outside will be white with pink cherry blossoms on it.

For favors, we're getting folding sandalwood fans. It's an outdoor ceremony so this way everyone can stay as cool as possible.

Our theme is kind of asian-inspired look. We're going to Thailand for our honeymoon, so we wanted to reflect that in the decor.

I'm getting married on October 13, 2007 and I'm having an autumn theme. My colors are cranberry, orange, and gold.

My dress is a strapless A-line Jasmine Collection ivory gown that I bought on eBay for $100.

My mom used to own a floral shop so she is doing my flowers for me. I'm going to have a mixture of mums, gerber daisies, and roses in autumn colors for the bride's and bridesmaid's bouquets. The men's boutonnieres will be roses.

The cake is a three-tiered chocolate cake with ivory buttercream frosting decorated with cascading flowers similar to the bouquets.

For favors we are giving everyone two hand-dipped chocolate truffles from a locally owned candy store in the city where we went to college together. My fiance frequently gave me these truffles as gifts while we were in school. The truffles will be placed in burnt orange boxes personalized with our names that have a maple leaf design cut into the top.

It's coming up quickly, and I'm so excited for the day to get here!

The theme of our wedding was a wedding! What a novel thought!
Our colours for a July wedding were pink, yellow, lilac, and light teal. I wore a very traditional gown of soft bridal satin - long Renaissance sleeves, scoop neck, Basque waist, to a flowing skirt and long train. Embellished with pearls, crystals, and lace appliques. Wore a fingertip veil with small tiara of crystals and pearls. Groomsmen wore light grey tuxes, with short jackets. Groom wore a traditional style tux jacket. The MOH and bridesmaids wore a printed tea-length dress, the pattern was little flowers in the aforementioned colours, looking like they were watercolour-painted, very pretty. They had short puffy sleeves, v-neck, crossed straps at the back, dropped waist. Each couple of the attendants had an accessory 'colour' - for example, the 'pink' bridesmaid wore a wreath of pink flowers in her hair, and had pink ribbons trailing from her bouquet. Her corresponding groomsman wore a pink bowtie and cummerbund. It was very striking with the four colours for the four couples!
My bouquet was a hand-tied European bouquet in the four colours, with a total mix of flowers - some roses, alstromeria, stargazer lily, carns, etc. The bridesmaids had smaller versions of my bouquet.
No wedding cake on display, per se. Instead, we had a traditional Ukrainian wedding, so we had special breads (korovai) decorated and on display. We did give out wrapped fruitcake toward the end of the evening, for our guests to put under their pillows to dream on (a family tradition).
Our favours were basic - wrapped mints in our colours, in tulle, tied with a satin ribbon and our thank you; a little decorated bread-dough dove (like was on the wedding breads); we also had printed napkins and matches.
We hosted 200 people - had a lovely buffet meal, great dance music, and a full open bar.

My wedding was pretty simple. We had it in our church building with the reception in the basement.
My dress was an a line halter with beading down the front. It had a chapel length trane and I wore a simple veil, not over my face though. I wore sliver shoes just to be different.
My brides maids picked out the dresses they wore. I figured if they have to pay for them they should at least like them they were really cute 2 piece tea length skirts with sort of ruffles. in three shades of blue. the dresses were all the same, but they wore them different. one did strapless one did halter and one did spagetti straps. The guys, all cowboys, wore black jeans and silver vestst and ties with blue shirts that matched the girls dresses. We were untraditional in that we had my husband's sister as a 'grooms man' She wore the same vest and shirt and tie, but with a long black skirt.
We did daises because they are my favorite and they are simple. I had a big boquet of daisies, I wanted lilly of the valley, but they said no way in July, so we did babie's breath. the bride's maids just had one stem of daisies with the babies breath and ribbons and the boutiners wer a single daisy.
I hated my wedding cake because the store where I ordered it messed it up. they put pillars between the three tiers and made it almost taller than me. be sure to be explecit with your instructions for your cake.
Have fun with your plans. do things the way you want them and don't let anyone tell you you are doing it wrong. It is YOUR day that means things are YOUR way.

My dress is a formal rather than a traditional wedding dress. In ivory, with a beaded top and a straight, chiffon skirt. I love it!

Flowers will be simple: my bouquet will be white lilies with six yellow roses in it (I plan to give one rose each to my sister and sisters-in-laws at the reception instead of a bouquet toss). My MOH will carry a small, simple bouquet (we'll work on what flowers exactly after she gets a dress--I told her she can choose her own style and color as there are no other bridesmaids). We're going to use Peruvian Lilies (alstromeria) in the centerpieces.

Our wedding and reception are being held at the zoo, so the favors are a goody-bag of zoo-themed items (gummy fangs, parachuting animals, jumping frogs, temporary tattoos, an animal-shaped mug, that sort of thing) and a foam animal mask (we're hoping people will wear them for pictures!).

We haven't really chosen colors. I want my MOH to choose whatever color dress she wants to wear. The reception room is done in muted yellows and oranges, so we're planning the decorations around what will look good in that room, rather than forcing the room into a color palette.

The theme, of course, is the zoo. We're carrying it through the favors, centerpieces, programs, place cards (rather than little paper cards, we're writing guests' names on a wooden animal cut-out that matches the table 'name'), and reception reply cards (the zoo gave us a bunch of postcards that we will use as a reply card).

Our food "theme" is an upscale barbeque (beef kabobs, chicken breast in a jalapeno/pineapple glaze, little pulled pork sandwiches, grilled vegetable kabobs, roasted potatoes, etc.), with cupcakes instead of a cake.

We're having a lot of fun planning it!

I just got married on 4/20/07 and planned my entire wedding in just 4 short months. I wouldn't have it any other way, it was everything and then some. We had about 80 guests (88RSVP but 8 didn't show). You can see in my picture I am wearing a strapless dress, here it is, http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns_detail.jsp?stid=318&prodgroup=10
My girls all wore different tea length dresses in Victorian Lilac, I had 1 that was pregnant and my MOH wanted to be different and 1 wanted strapless, so it all worked out.
We had our wedding right on the beach in the sand, my flowers were tulips (my favorite) they were purple and white with an accent baby flower. The guys all wore a tan color suit that looked fabulous on the beach. We had an arch that we got married under that was decorated in Tulle & purple ribbon and my tulips.
Our favors were tealight holders with little flip flops on them, so cute, and a coconut tealight in them, smelled so good. and individual wrapped hershey bars with our names and wedding date and seashells on them.
I can't attach pictures, sorry I don't have them downloaded to anything i can attach.
