I wish I knew as I am considered far from normal.

It's not so much intelligence that's a factor among Atheists and Theists. It's about who's more logical and realistic about life. I'm Atheist but I don't mock other religions. I just do not believe in any entities or that anyone is watching over us. When I think about how crappy the world is because of people killing, polluting, destroying, and hating one another, I can't believe that any higher power would allow this to continue. I do think that there are some Theists who believe so much in their religions and books that they take things too literally. This is why I think that some religious people (not all) tend to shut out or hate others who don't share the same beliefs or who have different lifestyles. It's like that ****** preacher on the news who wanted to burn the Koran on 9/11, even though not all of Muslims are not to blame for what happened. No one should shun anyone because they are different or because they don't believe in any god/entity. If we all left each other alone to be ourselves, then the conflicts that divide us, such as religion, would be minimal.

It's the psychosis of religion, my friend. Like mold on week-old bread. You can't even see what the person used to be like before the religion got their mind all in a fuzzy green blur.

Atheists are free of those fairytale constraints and can see things clearly for what they are. Theists will say the same thing, but they are coated with the religion and truly can't see the forest for the trees.

Sounds like you can really relate to what the Atheists are saying and so it seems "normal" to you, as opposed to what you hear from the Theists.

Many that preach religion really don't know what they are talking about, ask Christan's if they celebrate Christmas then tell them that is a pagan holiday and with most that don't know it will be offensive. Many ministers wear suits because the people in their flocks are paying for it and also their ride and home and bills...

Ok...

You are only focusing your stereotypic views on a small sample. YES there are a lot of whacko fundies on here, but there are a lot of normal, sweet theists on here too. The vice versa goes for Atheists.

We are all atheists, it just to what degree.
There are a hundred gods to choose from, and I dont believe in 100 of them. Most religious people dont believe in 99 of them.
When they figure out why they dismiss the other 99, then they will know why I dismiss them all.

You will find that an atheist is a practical person. A 'show me don't just tell me' kind of person. An atheist doesn't HAVE to preach at you because he/she lives by what is experienced in life. There are no daydreams of a future beyond death. Just life to the fullest. EVERY DAY!!

I think it all depends on your point of view. You say theists sound like Priests? Not all are preachy, just like not all people enjoy warm weather.
