what editing software is needed to remove the lyrics or simply just left the background music of an mp3 or audio file?

If you have some "audio editing" package you can try, but remember the lyrics and sound track are part of the same waveform.

What you are trying to do is the audio equivalent of asking a photoshop expert to remove somone's hat in a photo and expect them to be able to create a realistic head of hair with correct style.

The "pure" information you will require is not there. While it is "technically" possible, it's probably beyond the abilities of someone that doesn't have the right software and a LOT of experience

Sounds like what you're trying to do isn't possible, you'll have to find the instrumental version.
