Gay marriage is not wrong. God did not say it was wrong.
Fundamentalists try to MAKE God and scripture say that because gay-bashing is one way they collect money from people who don't like to think for themselves: Send us your money and we'll save y'all from the gawdless homow-sexuals.
The bible is God's word, but it doesn't condemn gay people. Fundamentalists do. But not God.
And there is nothing in the bible against gay marriage. "Go forth and be fruitful" was a blessing, not a commandment.
The problem is that the bible does condemn homosexual actions when performed by heterosexuals, esp. in pagan idol worship. The problem is that distinction is a bit to complicated for fundamentalists to understand.

Boy, you ask a mouthfull. Somewhere along the line people got things confused. True Christians will never hate anyone. Jesus was about love and forgiveness. (John 3:17 tells us "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. ")Just like if your child lies to you or does something wrong, you will hate that action, not hate your child. Pretty much the same with sin. I will address several things here. First, we know that the Bible is God's word because of John 17:8,"For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them." There are many other instances where the writers are acknowledging God telling them what to write. To answer another, Leviticus 20:13 says "If a man lies with a male as if he were a woman, both men have committed an offense (something perverse, unnatural, abhorrent, and detestable); they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them." Thirdly, Romans 3:23 says "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." It's not just homosexuality that God says is a sin, it also includes lying, as well as many others. Lastly, I know God exists because I see His wonderful creation all around. I can't see the wind, but I can feel it. I can't see gravity, but I know it is there. I can't see God, but I know He is there, and one day I will see Him face to face.

God does not change just because earthly societies decide that they want to in the interest of making everyone feel comfortable in their sin; otherwise it would be "wide open is the path" instead of "narrow is the path". God tells us to take up our cross and follow Him; in other words, live a Christian life the way that He has prescribed and being untouched by the world.
If Leviticus 20:13 isn't a specific enough condemnation of homosexuality in saying that it is an abomination , then I don't know what is.

Ok, I have answered this question a thousand times, but I will do it again. This time a little differently.
First of all, people need to get one thing straight. God doesn't answer to us. We answer to Him. You are putting human limits on God. (God is prejudice??) What is that about? God is God. HE MAKES THE RULES, NOT HUMANS. We are suppose to OBEY HIS WORD. HE ISN'T SUPPOSE TO OBEY OURS. IF GOD SAYS THAT HOMOSEXUALITY IS A SIN, THEN IT IS A SIN! I believe Him, so I go by His word, not yours.
Next, the Bible was inspired by GOD. He only used men to write it. He told them what to write.
Finally, JESUS IS GOD. READ JOHN 1:1-3
"In the beginning was the WORD(JESUS), AND THE WORD WAS WITH GOD, AND THE WORD WAS GOD. HE WAS IN THE BEGINNING WITH GOD. ALL THINGS WERE MADE THROUGH HIM, AND WITHOUT HIM NOTHING WAS MADE."
Yes, Jesus wrote the Bible!!!!!!!! He is God!!!
I KNOW He exists. I have a personal relationship with Him.

There is a place in the bible that states that men turned towards men and women turned to women and that GOD took his hand off of them. Meaning he no longer is with them. God is the final authority, he is not prejudice towards anyone. He made marriage for man and woman. The bible was written by his diciples who were inspired by God to write what is in the bible. Therefore the Word of God was upon them and they wrote. Beware that if it is that someone has messed with the writtings of the bible they are going to suffer for it (revalations). God does exist. Can you make the seed that causes the tree to grow? Can any other idol you can imagine do so? No. You'd better learn the story straight. God provided that bible so that we would have something to go by in our lives. All of your answeres are there.

First of all, it's great that you're asking these questions. God says if we seek, we will find. I'll pray for your journey.
It is only recently in history that homosexuality has become acceptible in our culture. God isn't prejudiced against homosexual people. Our culture is prejudiced against God.
Many people believe that the Bible is a book about how to be good people. It is not. It is a book about how all of us are caught up in sin, even the religious leaders who try to follow all the rules. Every story in the Bible points to our need for a redeemer. Pride is one of the greatest sins, because many people (especially in our culture) don't realize they've fallen into it. Pride is the sin that made Satan what he is. Pride makes us judge others as less worthy of God's love than ourselves.
Having said that, Romans 1 talks about homosexuality along with a whole plethora of equal sins including "backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventers of evil things, disobedient to parents, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving and unmerciful, . It says, "...knowing the righteous judgement of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, not only do (they do) the same but also approve of those who practice them."
It"s also important to look at the very next verse, Romans 2:1 "Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge another, you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things."
As Christians, we cannot approve of sin or of people who practice sin (ourselves when we sin or gay marriage, for example), but we also must love those very people and not judge them as being more involved in sin than ourselves. We all need Christ, our mediator, who paid for our sin so that we could be in an eternal relationship with God. Christians are in a constant struggle with sin. God asks us to repent or turn away from our sin. We must always try while at the same time realizing that it is impossible to free ourselves of the sin in our lives. Christ loved us enough to die for us even while we were the most vile sinners. We must love each other the same way. That's why Christ said to love our neighbors and our enemies equally, a radical teaching.
If you think about it, the Bible is even more reliable because it wasn't written by Jesus. The Old Testament was written by numerous people over hundreds of years and yet all the books point to Christ and reveal God's nature in a consistent way. The New Testament was written by eyewitnesses and early teachers/historians. All the writers were guided by God's Spirit. In our current court system, we trust eyewitnesses and scholars much more than we would trust a defendant, and the more eyewitnesses the better. If you start picking and choosing what parts of the Bible to believe, you end up creating your own religion, making yourself God, which again leads back to the sin that made Satan what he is today. Did you know that he once was a glorious angel?
I hope this helps you in your journey.

Would you complain if God also commanded us to not marry crocodiles?
The Father up in heaven loves us and cares for our safety.
He gave us rules to follow so that we may live our lives on this Earth without sin and danger.
The only prejudice with the Lord is that which is against sin, and sin does not belong among the children of God.
The devil offers sodomy and many other lustful desires to tempt us and draw us away from the Father.
But only the Lord can give us salvation and that is through the sacrifice of his blessed son.
Praise Christ!

As a Christian, this is what I believe:
People are not born gay. Homosexuality is an identity crisis, a deep rooted distortion. Homosexuality is not a "kind of person", it is an act. And it is a sin. God says so directly in the Bible, you can read the whole first chapter of Romans for full context, but here is the exact verse:
"For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error." (Romans 1:26-27)
So when God says homosexuality is wrong, it is like when He says murder is wrong. Would you then call Him "prejudice" against murderers? And God loves EVERYONE. Everyone sins. God loves people who are gay, and He is waiting for them to see Him and follow Him.
Addressing what you next said...
The world says "see it, then believe it". God says, "believe it, then see". that's why a walk with God is a walk of FAITH. Faith = believing without seeing.
And the Word of God is written by God, through other people. Yes, it's supernatural; He's God. I don't live my life to please God, I love God and He loves me, it's a relationship. That results in my desire to please Him.
I hope I answered you questions clearly.

Assuming that you can't have it both ways (be gay AND "saved"), then I hand this one up to God, because I don't know the answer. I have gay and lesbian friends whom I love.
This goes back to my core beliefs: God is loving and God is just.
If a person's homosexuality is written in their "base code," then how can it be unnatural? Heck if I know.
Yes, I know what the Bible says. I also know what my friends say. I do believe in a living moving God who can be, if he so chose, to work outside the parameters written the Bible. The Bible is not God. God is God. You can't find God in the Bible. The Bible, however, can send you on a journey to find Him.
I would charge that some Christians rely too heavily on the Bible rather than seeking and experiencing the Living God.
My thoughts.
Peace, regards, and respects

I'm very sorry but I would have to say that gay marriage is definitely wrong. It has been an abomination to God even since the time of Sodom and Gomorrah.
Gay marriage is one way of committing the oldest sin, in the newest ways..
I believe that God exists. If He would not, we would not have existed. We are the manifestation of the love of God.. our existence because of his longsuffering and patience. In relation to science, it's just like asking... Do you believe that atoms exist? Can you see the atom? or the molecule? How do you know that it is there? Because of its manifestation.. We see large groups of atoms or molecules form a substance but we do not see a single atomic particle. But why do we believe that there is an atom on a substance, because of its manifestation. Same thing with God. We are the substance of His love..manifestation of His existence.

God hates sin, and gay marriage is a sin...it's the same as telling a lie, or adultery....God is Perfect and if we would ALL live our lives like He says in the Bible I think everyone would be happier...Satan planned sin and destruction, NOT God, so do not blame Him!!!
Oh, and were you there when the bible was written? Because you so matter of factly said Jesus did not write it...I will tell you the apostles wrote the book and it was through God's spirit, so it did come through God and if you would study your history you would know that....
