my point is, after finally getting dental insurance (8 years without it) i need to see a dentist terribly and i do not have the finances to cover the 20% that would be my part of the copay. are there dentists out there that are able to see a patient without a copay or would they get in trouble by waving the copay? i live paycheck to paycheck but teeth are something you can't neglect.

There are dentists who offer those long term plans like what Capital One sells. If you sign up for that they will tell you how much you need to pay each month (for a year or so) to cover your part of the expense. It does not go on your regular credit card and evidently they do not report it to credit bureaus so your existing credit line is untouched.

If you want low cost compassion see if there is a dental school in your area. They usually have a clinic where senior students (under supervision of a licensed dentist) will do the work for free or for negligible cost. Forsythe in the Boston area does that for example.

word of mouth is a good advertisement and reference, do u know anyone where u live that has encountered what u r looking for? I don't know what state u reside in ,but, where I live there are dental clinics that has a sliding scale and goes according to your income, by you having Dental insurance already would be a plus for you because there would be either a very small co-pay for u or no copay at all, you can either go online and look this up in the city and state where u reside or as as one the answerer stated above, go through your yellow pages under dentists or dental clinics, there are also medical clinics that have dental offices connected in their network which offers the medical and dental ID cards and the amount is very minimal, also, every state has a non-profit hospital which includes dental office and a lot of times they will write off the co-pay through their billing department, I hope I have said something to help, I know how the teeth can be sometimes.

I think that there are dentist out there who don't take the co pay. I know that my chiropractor doesn't take his copay. My dentist doesn't either. Although ours is a friend of the families so he helps us out alot more than most others would. We have no dental insurance. I think you just need to look and you will find someone who will work with you.
Good Luck.

We have in our town, the Community Clinic, which is medical and dental services. It's free but they accept donations of whatever you can pay. Do you have something like that where you live? We will pray that the Lord supplies your need.

You need to look in the yellow pages and find one that will take payments. Look at list of eligable dentists and call them to see what dentists will take payments.
