you need to consume low GI high fiber complex carbs like lentils, whole oatmeal, barley, beans, whole grain rice, etc. these carbs are referred to as being "slow burning". because they are all natural and high fiber it takes many hours for them to be digested. they do not cause drastic increases in blood or insulin secretion.

these are the carbohydrates sources that the human body is designed to utilize, not processed carbohydrates like bread, crackers, pasta, etc.
