So I was "debating" a creationist through a few emails, the last one he sent was pretty heated. He informed me that he knows the truth because he majored in Evolution in college...

Is it time to end the conversation?

It's fun when they turn to fabricated authority. I keep most of the debates in the public part of the forum, so that the lies become part of the record. Consider asking, "What colleges offer majors in Evolution?" and invite an answer to the question.

You can't "major in evolution," because it isn't a specific discipline. Had he told you he had majored in biology, you might be able to believe him. He's handing you a line. I suggest you toss it back.

*Edit* I do, however, agree with Riegan; his future communications should be a hoot. Might be worth it just for the laughs.

Maybe it was the same college that Kent Hovind "went to". It seems all you need for a creationist college is a web site and a trailer.

Ask him how old he is and if he has kept up with the scientific world since he left college.
Then ask what specific opposing scientific evidence has been documented in favour of creationism.

Yes, it's time to end it. Majored in evolution? Must be a B.S. degree.

I'd think so, I may have missed something but I haven't seen an evolution 101.....

most text are based on Evolution. that is where most
people learn the wrong things. all that fossils tell us is
that a certain type of creature was real. nothing else.
evolution can't happen. if so why are we so stupid?

Its time to move from debate mode to "you're full of sh-t mode".

Nobody who understands the theory of evolution would argue against it unless they have ulterior motives...
