Mold is one of the key ingredients for some types of cheese.
Think blue, Stilton, Munster and Camembert.
Why, without our friend Mr. Mold, God would have to invent it!

Penicillin comes from bread mold, not cheese mold. But anyway, He probably figured that if the cheese were any good, it would be eaten before it got moldy.
I don't think sin has anything to do with moldy cheese. According to what I've heard and read, the punishment for sin is death, separation from God, not fuzzy bread.

Obviously God invented cheese, because when it gets moldy, it gets better (at least with cheddar). Just cut off the mold, and you'll see that God has blessed your cheese with mold to make the cheese more tasty.

Penicillin comes from moldy oranges.
Mold is often intentionally put on cheese to help store it. It sounds backwards, but I've bought entire blocks of cheese that were completely covered in mold- you just cut it off.

The mold makes it taste much better... this is most likely due to the time when we were scavengers. Seriously, think about it, much of our food is on the rotten side, we age meat, cheese, sour cream, kimchee, natto, sauerkraut, butter, beer, wine, all of these are a form of "rotten" food.
