Although you may find it cheaper in Japan there is one thing you need to be aware of - the warranty. Once you return home if you have a warranty claim it will only be honored in Japan. You will have what is known as a "gray market" camera. Importers often find cameras cheaper in other countries, buy them there and then import them. They can then sell them for less than the dealer who bought from the licensed importer. These "gray market" sellers never bother telling the buyer about the warranty. What seemed a bargain becomes a real pain in the backside.

Buy your camera from a Canadian dealer. Try henrys.com.
