I've never heard of that concerning the BIBLE but I HAVE seen it in music. A TRANSLATION is taking one language and putting it into another language. The English translations of the KJV, NKJV, NIV, NAS, etc are VERSIONS of the English translation.
A RENDITION is YOUR way of expressing something.
For example a lot of old rock songs are done by new groups/people according to how THEY think it should or could be sung. Years ago someone took some old classics and produced them in a way that was kind of a rock n roll format.
I guess a RENDITION OF THE BIBLE would be a DIFFERENT interpretation of what the original scriptures say.
Mel Gibson did that in the PASSION OF CHRIST. The scene that shows an example of his RENDITION is when Barabbas is set free. He was a Jewish ZEALOT, but he was portrayed as a MAD MAN.
Thank you for your question. I'm going to have to look into this deeper and try to find a BIBLE RENDITION
Maybe the NEW WORLD TRANSLATION of the Bible, published by the WATCHTOWER AND TRACT SOCIETY (aka Jehovah's Witnesses) might be an example of a RENDITION...e.g. John 1:1 of the Christian Bible compared with John 1:1 of the NWT...."...and was God." compared with "...and was a God."

Dear Job,
Bible rendition is when it is shipped to other countries, where folks less kind than us can dog-ear the pages until it spills it's secrets. (I know of one case where yellow high-lighter pens were used, "underscoring" the need to stop this horrible practice)
Translation is when, instead of bending pages, you bend the whole book to suit your agenda.
Signed,
Gideon in Guantanamo
