That alleged 'data sheet' is a lot more mechanical than electrical. Most of those little LCD displays are designed to be driven pretty much directly off of a microprocessor data buss with a minimum of interfacing and monkey motion. But you're gonna have to find the electrical data spec sheet to that one so you'll have the signal timings, etc. as well as the command codes to make the display really operate well.
