All in a MEAN tone of voice that it means they'll really do something? I accidentally scraped this lady's new car with my old raggedy beat up car. It was an ACCIDENT. She was parked kind of on the yellow line and I was trying very hard to back out without any problem but I scraped her car a little bit. She was in the car. I got out and told her i was sorry, and I gave her my insurance card, but she wouldn't even roll down the window, she just yelled I'LL SEE YOU IN COURT. Why are people so hateful???? I said I was sorry, gave my insurance, what was I supposed to do? It was a nice car though.

This accident will be handled between insurance companies and is not a court issue until such time as the insurance companies fail to come to a mutual agreement.

Yes...welcome to the world! It's SO very sad how some people can be very hateful these days.

Although one can understand the other drivers frustration of their car being damaged...as you say...an accident is an accident.

Pay it no attention and just continue to be the polite person you are!

If you left the scene and no one called the authorities you are both at fault if it can even be proven that it happened. You can both be sited for leaving the scene of an accident. Since she can get a ticket as well I doubt that she'll do anything. I do know what you mean about people being mean. And for no reason at all. It makes you really sad to thing that people today are mean and sue happy! You did the right thing and I wouldn't worry, karma will bite that lady for being mean. You did something wrong and by accident and you tried to rectify the situation and do the right thing. So if I were you I would let it go. You worrying about it means she gets what she wants, to hurt your feelings! Good luck!

Did you call the police? Did you call YOUR insurance company? I have learned over the years that no matter how small an incident like this is, I'm calling the police. I've seen too many "small issues" end up as huge ordeals when they didn't need to be.

If what you say is accurate, and you did call your insurance and police, you should be fine. Obviously you'll have to pay for the damage to her car. It was inappropriate for her to act that way, yes, but she was probably really upset that her car was bumped.

I hope you called the police, or had a witness or something!

My understanding about accidents is that if the vehicles are driveable and not in the way of traffic, the cops don't want to know about it. They would rather not waste everyone's time coming out to a "scraping" accident.

Oh, and btw, you don't HAVE to pay through insurance, that is completely up to you. So let her come after you, she'll just show the world how ridiculous she is lol

I hope you called the police so an accident report could be made. Call your insurance company now! You say she was parked on the yellow line.....so I feel it was partly her fault. You did try to do the right thing...you did all you could do....you gave her your information and she wanted to be hateful about it. But then again Id be slightly hateful if someone scrathed my car but wouldnt stay in the car and yell.

This is an insurance issue. She can't sue you personally. But you should have called the police, and told her that you did. If she then left the scene of the accident, she could be charged.

No, she can't get an indictment if you gave her your insurance. Also from the damage it sounds like she'll be able to fix it with touch up paint, which costs less than 20 dollars, so according to the Constitution, she can't sue.
