If yes, is it because of the doctrine of "eternal torment"? If so, I don't blame you, but did you know that not all Christians believe in it?

I LOVE BEING A CHRISTIAN

No I don't have difficulty embracing it....I choose not be fooled by it but that is a different thing. It's too small a concept for my life, the christian god is too unintelligent for me and I have way too many gay friends!
Id need a god who was science personified, a god who required no faith but infact praised and rewarded you for studying, asking, finding out all the wonderful things about the universe he'd made.
He'd been positivley excited about showing all the things you dont know, he'd be fun and he'd be lovable know that would be a religion I would embrace.
Imagine a religion where there was simply a factual god who was like a celebrity simply because he was bigger and better than us.
.....
Anyway I know that not all Christians believe in anything, not creation, not jesus, not the bible. Christians pick and choose what they like then all hide under the same guise even though some of them are actually quite intelligent in the way they live with their religion.

Not at all.....

Why would I have a problem with the absolute truth?

Every true born again Christian knows & believes that there is a hell and that it is a place of eternal torment. Christ Himself spoke of this place in the gospels.

Just because I don't like the idea of eternal separation from God (the Biblical definition of hell, which you define as "torment"), doesn't change reality. I have no problem embracing even the stickiest of Christ's teachings.

I embrace the things Christ taught (the Sermon on the Mount and the Greatest Commandment), but not all the things that have been added on to that (from Paul onward).

I do very much.
I cant accept Jesus as my GOD; I think that is very essential to be Christian.

God sent Jesus here into the earth.
I cant accept Jesus claim himself as god.
It's only one God for me, THE ONE that SENT Jesus down.
Jesus is just a good man in my opinion.

If a "christian" doesn't believe in eternal hell, then they are not a Christian at all. Jesus said eternal hell is real.
