I would not live on a boat, the water scares me and what if it sank when you were sleeping, that would really be bad. I would go on a boat trip but not sure where.

Anybody living on a boat these days will find it as expensive as living in a house.A canal boat is ok for a holliday, but not to live on ,they are very cramped, with not much stowage. The larger river and sea going craft are very expensive to run, lift outs ,hull cleaning, new anodes ,stern gear, seals, paint costs an arm and a leg. Then you have mooring/marina charges and the list goes on.You can also buy some real lemons that will cost you a fortune to put right ,if possible.Only proceed with due caution, extensive study and never be afraid of asking question,no matter how daft they seem. But when you get there you really will enjoy ,it gets in your blood.Good luck.

I used to live on a narrow boat on the Fossdyke Canal Lincolnshire.....It was the best life and the freest we ever had,,,,,thousands do it and many more will.....we went all over the 2,000 mile network within the UK and you just can`t beat it,,,,,We used to look at people in their little brick boxes and were glad at the time we weren`t a part of it.......

Definitely, what a great way to live! As long as there is enough space that is :)
I'd probably moor somewhere along the Thames so that at weekends we could travel up and down the river stopping at all the lovely riverside pubs!

I had a boat, I got rid of it. Everytime I took it out, There was a lot of bikini clad women wanting to get on and when I let them, off come the tops, and 1/2 of them the bottoms also. All trying to do all sorts of filthy nasty things to me. So I sold it.
