It sounds like she is feeling a little under the weather after her vaccinations and she might even be huffing with you a little!!! Give hera bit of space but keep a good eye on her today as well. You should potter about the house where she can see you and hopefully she will come to you. If you are still concerned tomorrow consult your vet. Good luck and well done for rescuing your doggie!!!!

First thanks for being so responsable.
You need to realize that chis are I often think the biggest wimps.
If you can try to Put teh other dogs somewhere so you can just be with the new dog and set on the floor with some treats and talk in a very soft voice and try to coax her out.
It will take time but be patient.
I strongly suggest once she seems like she is more trusting of you get her into a dog obedience class teh main reason is socializeing her and then to get her better trained.
Chis can become fear biters so socializtion is extrmely important eseccialy if she is the way you are saying.

I think chihuahuas are a bit on the skittish side to begin with aren't they? I am sure if it was abandoned and/or abused it is going to have some trust issues, but I'd say just give her some time and she will eventually come around. Once she figures out you are going to be a permanent source of food she will become more friendly towards you and feel more secure.

I think I'd find some irresistable treat to lure her to me. Then I'd cuddle her... and maybe put a cold pack on the injection site to make it feel better sooner. she is very much in need of continued socialization...
If you can get her to go after a treat inside a crate, you can control her and alternate between crate and cuddle and outside with you on a leash... so that if you're not cuddling or walking her on a leash, she's in a crate where you can get hold of her easily. Then it only takes a few days to resocialize her.

This pup is very lucky and congrats on your new pet.
I'd let her be as long as she is eating, drinking and not displaying signs of illness. She has been through a lot and just needs time to adjust to her new surroundings and family. Once she realizes that she is safe, she will become more sociable.

Its common for an animal to be tierd after a shot, skiddish etc. All the things you are seeing arent abnormal. My mother use to breed dogs ( small dogs chihuahua's pomerainians etc). they tend to want their space, she'll come around! She is very lucky to have you ! Good luck

after vaccines...dogs can be tired and moody...just make sure for the day that she has all her needs...food, water, and potty breaks. but try and keep it quiet in the house...and if you want...you can lay or sit by her spot and read or something...that way she knows you are there...but that you arent bothering her.....but i am sure within a day or 2 she will be fine....just make sure she knows you arent going to hurt her...and just take it slow.

her shot may have made her tired and less energetic just let her do what she wants for today and tomorrow. if she is still doing this about the 4th or 5th day tell your vet.
