My son is only 4 years old, his "father" is in the military and has only seen him about 3 times in the past 4 years...He recently contacted me saying he is filing paperwork for my son to see him out of state (out of state visitation) i live in ohio and he lives in georgia, does he have a good chance of getting the visitation? He has never been alone with my son, and has only seen him THREE times in 4 years...which is his doing, not the military. Only answers from people who have been in this situation or have legal experties please.

Yes he has a very good chance. Has he been paying child support? If so, then yup, hes most likely gonna get it. I would speak to an attorney right away, They can help you work some of these issues out. It'll be better if you stay one step ahead of him.

very good chance, he has every right for visitation of the child, he may have to pay for the whole transportation cost but he will have to file within the state your child lives, but if he is in the military they have lawyers on base who will help file the right paper work

It can happen. Should you go to court, be sure of what is specified in the visitation order. Out of State is one thing, out of country is another. My wifes ex was in the military and had visitation. She didn't know he was taking them to England for over a year.

Who cares if he has never been alone with the child he is the parent also. And if he has been paying you the money to help support the child then he should be able to see the child as well. I sorry but, moms are always the worst in a child custody dispute and always bring up the fact, that the father "has never been alone with the child". If he has been in the military and has been paying child support he should be able to see his kid as well.
