I am making a beef cobbler - I stewed the beef in a pint of guiness for 3 hours (kids won't eat chewy meat, so it melts in ur mouth this way) I have then made (well I am in the process of making) homemade scones for the top, I am also having sweetheart cabbage, carrots and babycorn, all served with rich gravy (leftover stock from the meat earlier!)

What are you all planning on having?

all this lovely food you are all preparing - gives me ideas for meals for next week - apart from the tinned soup idea!

I am in Ireland if you all wanna hop on the next ferry - you might have to fight the dog for any scraps!

Lamb curry. Lamb knuckles braised with red curry paste, lemon juice, soy sauce, onion, chopped tomatoes, chillies and fresh garlic in olive oil. Spices added will be cumin, tumeric, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, coriander and bay leaves. When meat is tender, I add about 2 large chopped potatoes [with skin on] and 1 large carrot sliced in chunks [skin on].
Going to serve it with steamed jasmine rice, poppadums and sambals. And of course some red wine on the side... Yummy!
I love curries and stews and must say, your beef cobbler sounds great! You should post the recipe... :)

That beef cobbler sounds yummy!

I have a lot of stuff to do today so I wanted something that wouldn't take much time tonight. So, I started some beef stew in my crock pot this morning. With it, I'm having homemade biscuits and a lettuce salad.

Although I'm not a red meat eater, your beef cobbler sounds delicious!!!

I'll be making baked penne with marinara sauce and spicy turkey sausage, covered in mozzarella cheese and baked till golden brown. I'll have a salad with it, the anti veggie boyfriend of mine will probably just have some bread on the side. As I'm typing, I'm thinking about the apples in my fridge and how lovely and fragrant they would be if I baked them with some butter and cinnamon sugar.

Yours sounds really good:)

Tonight at our house it's every man for himself. My husband has two volunteer activities back to back after work so he won't be home till late and will get himself something to eat on the way. My son and I will probably have takeout also, maybe Panera, and then he has homework and I have choir practice. There's no point in cooking for him, he's 13 and only likes about 5 things.

Tomorrow, however, I will make baked chicken and rice and some fresh veggies.

well your dinner sounds delicious, I wish I had 3 hours to replicate that, I reckon my hubby would love it. I came to this section for some inspiration for dinner tonight actually, but I may just go and get some cold deli meats and bread with salad or a rotisserie chicken with salad. Salad is boring though, maybe I'll just get a ready meal!!!

We're having shrimp, baked in a small dish in olive oil with bread crumbs and spices covered with shredded cheese, for starter, then the main dish is thin spaghetti, with Alfredo sauce, garlic bread, and a salad. Red wine to drink. MMM mmm!

Ham with mashed potato's and gravy, and greenbeans. I'm diabetic so I don't always have a dessert. I do have marshmellow icecream in the refrigerator, but I won't have any.
