The Beatles came to America! Music in general was turning to rock and roll. Women were demanding more equal rights. Unions were coming into their own. Bill Gates was developing "Windows". IBM was growing into the world's sole communication leader. Cell or car phones were in fashion. Girls were wearing bell bottoms, hip hugger pants, jeans and even skirts. They set a fashion trend with the Twiggy and Vidal Sassoon Hair cut. Hot Pants and Mini skirts!
1967 was the year of the turtle and the turtleneck sweater. It was favored by beatniks and flower children.

1968 Rev Martin L. King was assasinated.

Man walked on the moon.

The USA was fighting the Viet Nam war in Viet Nam, Laos and Cambodia then. The British forces were fighting a communist insurgency in Malaysia then. There were probably brush-fire wars in Africa; there usually are. Biafra tried to secede from Nigeria in that period.
