Hello all! I pray that you are doing well this morning.
I would like to talk to you about something God has brought to my attention this morning.
As I was taking my daily walk and thinking about those people in my life, I remembered a bible verse that talks about "guarding our hearts."
Now I believe that this verse is talking about guarding our hearts from evil. But, I also believe that it means guarding our hearts from those who hurt us.
There are those people that we love. And sometimes the people that we love continuously hurt us. Every time we come away from an encounter with them, we feel just a little down. God tells us to "GUARD OUR HEARTS." Think about this. Seriously. What are we guarding it from? Does it mean not to love that person? No. Does it mean not to ever talk to that person again? No. I believe it means that we must be aware of the situation that we could get into every time we have an enounter with that person and we must stake our happiness on Jesus

,not on another person. If we are continuously being hurt, we must also think about how important it is to talk to that person. And sometimes, we may have to distance ourselves and just give it over to God. When you are guarding you heart, you must pray. Because who is the Ultimate guardian over your heart? Jesus is!

So, my dear friends, remember this saying for today:
LET GO AND LET GOD!

I hope that you have been blessed this morning,
not by anything I have said,
but by God.

I love you all, Cat

Can you please resist the temptation to preach. This stuff gets really boring and doesn't actually invite much discussion either.

One of the most often used words in the Word of God is "Take Heed" which means "Watch Out" or "Guard Yourself"
all though the Word we are told to "Take Heed" this is not a request but rather a command of love that we would not fall into the things of the world. So yes often we are guarding from people. But I remember the battle is not mine but God's! Something I can only overcome by the Word of God and the blood of the Lamb. Thanks Cat!

Image those who asked Jesus the same question felt a little put off when the Master bent down and wrote in the dirt. Some say it was the ten commandments being those who had questions at the time were living by the law but not according to it. How some of us must feel let he who is with out sin cast the first stone, Jesus was saying it then and is saying it now only through the Holy Spirit. Mercy and Grace are full in the Love of Christ only to be wrapped up in the Spirit that we walk in day by day in His Word.

Guarding our hearts is to keep our heart in tune With God at all times, create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me,put on the full armour of God,and when people hurt us we have to have healthy boundries, for we can not change people, places or things, thanks for such a wonderful word and you have a blessed week.

Thank you Cat!
I need to guard my heart more than I do. And because I am such a private person, when someone gets me down I keep the really bothersom stuff inside, and I know that isn't good for me.

God Bless and have a wonderful week!

You are on the right track. IF there is some evil among us, God will reveal that to us and if we ask, HE will show us how to do it. We are to wittness to ppl, but we arent to hang around evil ppl. We can speak truth and live it. God will show us who will receive and who wont. SO we do as the Spirit leads us to do, But we always show the person that God lvoes them and that He is a forgiving God and they can always change their mind and go back to HIm. We also set boundaires with ppl. We can love them all, pray for them without ceasing and never give up. But we wont spend our time with ppl who want to bring their darkness into our light. God never requires that, even if it is famliy. God will show us, some we just spend less time with, but we alwas leave the door open for them tocome back with a heart of love. And sometimes God will tell us to severe all contact, but still we leave that door open for them to come back and we let them know how much they are loved, but that we cant be involved in their lifestyle of wickedness and evil, and total chaos all the time. ANy of us that have had a child on drugs, have had to learn the tough love pricniple. OFten we are in Gods way , making things worse when we stay in and try to fix somone. OFten, we are called to step back and let GOd fix it. But you are on the right track. Many dont even see this and see in horrible relationships and end up losing their own faith due to serious depression. Devil loves it. We are to say NO to the devil and Yes to Jesus. Great question...

And good-morning to you also........ Yes, I know just what you mean.... I often, in my life, to often, have to guard my heart, *sigh*, not an easy task..... and as some one above me has also said, peace be still , I OFTEN live by that.......I back off, sit alone with God, and just take in His love, sometimes that is the only way I make it through the day........ go in peace........ God bless

Yes your right. True love really demands endurance. And therefore, it is too unfair to love just when we are loved.
Consider also these important things. To respond needs silence, and it doesn't mean to restraint yourself from talking, but rather to talk when it is needed by means of talking
1. At the proper time
2. Proper choice of word.
3. Proper way of talking
4. Right purpose

In these ways we build peace leading us into conformation to Christ Jesus, the best example who lives in silence. Mary, as well, gives an example of silence. Try to read Luke when Mary went to visit her cousin Elizabeth and when she says her Magnificat. There it shows that Mary speaks when needed; she speaks with her whole being and her whole being totally talks of God.

Well, thanks. God bless!!!

Very true. You know this kinda goes along with what Christ taught about missions. When he sent them out he told them to go and preach, and if in a town they where not recieved well, to leave them be, to shake off the dust from their sandles showing that they where leaveing them to thier own. Like wise, when we see that we are hurt over and over by someone, anyone, we should consider "leaving them to thier own." If by chance they notice you do not come around anymore, or you keep your distance, I think in a kind way they should be told why.

Wow, the Lord is speaking to me this morning! I have been thinking about a couple of people in my family who are continuously hurting others by the way they talk. I have been thinking about what to do about it, and there never is an easy answer, especially when it's about people you love. Thank you for reminding me that God is in control, and that He will take care of things. I need to pray more, and worry less!!!
Have a blessed day in the Lord, and thank you for the blessing this morning!!! God Bless!

Sometimes it is tough. Often times I feel this way and find myself backing away from one particular family member who deems it necessary to say hurtful things every time we see her. Prayer does help and "guarding my heart", is exactly what I need to do. Thank you.
