I have had mine running 24 hours a day since I got it weeks ago, and have monitored the case temperature and have never got a reading over 110 F. There is absolutely no reason to add an Intercooler, as they will more than likely ruin your PS3 (it ruined my xbox 360). Just follow common sense guidelines such as making sure you have about six inches of clearance all around it so it can ventilate properly, and making sure that you do not place it right next to any heat source (like a running Xbox :D). Seriously, there are almost no VERIFIABLE examples of a PS3 failing due to heat when it has room to breathe on its own.

cutting-side pc chips run warm (many times as much as eighty 5'C) so do no longer panic because of the fact it feels warm...it is meant to. do no longer difficulty with an exterior fan, at terrific you're paying to calm down plastic at worst you will intervene with the right air flow. If the PS3 layout ought to no longer preserve the warmth then Sony may well be experiencing somewhat some mess united statesthat they might would desire to be paying for (ecu regulation might compel Sony to repair them for loose if that they had a layout fault for as much as six years!). The PS3 will shutdown if the processors overheat scuffling with everlasting issues (although of course the clarification it overheats must be via fan failure, or blocked vents etc.)

just keep it away from other things like keep it free and just be in a cool place where the ps3 can be. try haveing it vertical standing that works i think it seems not to get heated up as fast when laying down flat

I've seen disassembled PS3. The cooling system is good. Just needs some space.

I HAVE HAD MY PS3 SINCE THEY CAME OUT AND SOMETIME I LEAVE IT ON FOR A DAY OR TWO. I HAVE NEVER NEEDED ADDITIONAL COOLING. I ALWAYS USE MY AIR BLOWER TO KEEP IT FREE OF DUST. SONY ADDED A GOOD COLLING SYSTEM FOR THE PS3. I NOTICED MY PS2 GOT HOTTER THAN THE PS3..MAYBE IT JUST ME.

dont put it in tight places. use a fan where the ps3 in takes air not where it blows out hot air.

i have a fan on mine. i use to have the intercooler one, but i went through two of those. for some reason, after a month or 2, one of the fans would start wearing out, and start making a weird noise when it started up. so now i use the one that's made by pelican.

Dip it in an ice bath.

Kidding!

Keep it away from other electronics and put a fan blowing over it.
