I admire him very much. He is one of the great minds of our time, not that he had a lot of choice except to think. It's a pity more people don't embrace his courage and intellect.
I have contacted his webpage before, it will be easy to find.
Good luck.

Mofty, I have never seen a better example of the hypocrisy of religion than your cheap and infantile comments here. Thanks for exposing your true ill informed, ignorant and scientifically illiterate self.

His health is horrible now from what I've heard.

He is a great physicist. And his books brought that world out to common people. But understand a lot of his work has been very controversial and he isn't universally admired by other physicists. But he probably knows more about black holes than any one alive. That whole paradox that he came up with that said a black hole could vanish with all the stuff in it caused quite a stir. Even he doesn't buy it anymore.

I liked his work on the topological structure of space-time. I worked through the theorems in his book "The Large Scale Structure of SpaceTime." and really enjoyed the mathematical techniques. Of course they were originally developed by Roger Penrose. The theorems demonstrating that singularities arise in the early universe and in black hole collapse are remarkable for their elegance.

There is no question that the man is a scientific genius.

That that marvelous brain is trapped in a deformed body should be something that ANYONE should admire, & be grateful that he CAN still communicate his knowledge to us!

I admire his dedication and his will to achieve in spite of his physical problems. Interestingly, if he had lived a normal/healthy life, he would probably not have done anything remarkable.

If he should be admired it should be for over comming his disabilities.

But not really... His academic record is mared by his lack of Faith and is evidentally a rotten husband.

He did his best work a long time ago. Nowadays he seems - like so many whose light burns brightly when young - to be rather desperate to pull another rabbit from his hat.

No, "great" is least of great-->greater-->greatest.
His God is the Law, witch said: "I will forsake you".
His infirmity isn't only in his body, but in his head.
May his law become grace before his @ss is grass.

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

He is smart. Unless you have evidence that suggests he is not smart. If that's the case, then we can settle this with an academic decathlon.
