No, not all curries need yoghurt, but it's a good addition if you prefer a mild creamy curry.

No not all of them do. I find the Indian curries usually contain plain yogurt but then other curries from Malaysia / Thai etc - they are more aromatic than creamy...

We very seldom add yoghurt to our curries. Instead, we have yoghurt as an accompaniment. It is cool and refreshing that way, against the hotness of the curry.

no!! i just made it last night, 1st cut up some green peppers,onions,fresh garlic,carrots, and white potatoes,then season chicken thighs, take alittle oil, put in a pan and fry chicken when chicken is almost done put in all of the cut veggies,fry veggies in same oil with chicken until tender take you r curry power,or paste which ever you use put into pan if you use power mix with water. then take a small can of diced tomatoes put into pan pour water or chicken stock half way full not full or you will lose the flavor, let simmer for and 1/2 hr. and you done put over cooked rice. enjoy

some ppl like my mom uses coconut milk instead or yoghurt.
its gives a really nice aroma.
