I am not sure if you have 57 year old 1st Sgts or not in your unit, but yes, if you do they can be deployed.

I wouldnt be surprised if there were a 1st Sgt in there 50s serving in the reserves. Anyone wearing a military uniform that says US Army on it thats not on a physical profile can and most likely will be deployed regardless of age.

He can be deployed just like anyone else. But, don't worry about him. There is a 59 year old playing a starting position on a college football team this year. Us old guys aren't dead, we've just slowed down a bit.
To be honest. I would rather have someone 50 watching my back than someone 18. This is from first hand experience.

I dont know about reserves but being in the RA we deploy anyone unless your pregnant or dying... No matter what if you have a physical profile. If you are capable of carrying a weapon this oct you leave with us out of 101st.

It really shouldn't be about the age it's what these people bring to the table. I'd rather have someone over me with experience than a green horn.
