I have a beagle mix (almost 6 months old) who has recently began to throw up her food...and eat it. She then returns to the bowl and does it all over again. Any recommendations? I've changed the food, but have yet to take her to the vet. Thanks in advance for your help.

Regurgitation can be (and often is) simply due to the dog eating too fast. Most dogs will eat this again as it's not 'contaminated' by stomach acids at this stage. Does she bring water up as well? What about very soft food?

If it's happening all the time though, or goes on for any length of time, I would certainly recommend taking her to the vet and getting her checked. It is possible that she may have a problem with her oesophagus (the 'tube' that the food goes down)- either due to the muscles not working properly, or because there is something else constricting or blocking it.

some dogs will do that. dogs always taste new things. but if shes does over and over she likes the taste of her puke. there might be something in the food that her body doesnt think belongs there.
