Like, "Can someone please give me a tattoo shop in Philadelphia?"

[I just said Philly cuz that's where I live.]

Chances are, there's never anyone on from there and I laugh because those questions never get answered.
Why don't they just ask their friends, drive around to the shops and look at the artists' work, something other than asking us.

It's easier for them to hope for someone from that area to be on here, and to give them a good reference. (So point-blank, it's because of laziness.)

Although, I'd much rather go see the place myself, look at the artists portfolios, and get opinions from people I can actually SEE & TALK to, instead of someone over the internet who could be lying about what they're talking about.

There stands a very good chance that they will get an answer to their question. Many of the people who submit regularly in Tattoos are, themselves, tattooed. Who better to ask? I've answered several questions about tattoo shops in the Dallas area. Granted, they could do the leg work themselves, but why shouldn't we help them by telling them that Tattooist X at Tattoo Shop on Main is great, Tattooist Y, not so much and if you go to Tattoo Shop off the highway you are asking for trouble.

that's actually a great question to ask i think. often people don't know where really talented artists are located if they aren't "in" the whole tattoo scene. i often answer questions people ask about artists and where to find them. some areas of the country have a much better selection of artists but most have atleast one talented one near by, tho they may not be well known thruout the area, especially if the area isn't big on quality tattoos.
the only questions i don't answer are ones about getting generic flash and "where in philadelphia can i get a good cheap tattoo" because i don't think that good and cheap go together. i always suggest custom tattoo artists which aren't cheap either.

just because i don't live in whatever specific area doesn't mean that i don't know some places to look for good artists. and often people take me up on my artist suggestion because i give them links to online portfolios so they can see the work for themselves.

I really don't know, maybe they just don't want to have to look around. They should though.
