In my spanish class, my teacher, who is european, brought hot tea for us to try. When I drank it, I got all shaky and weak feeling. My mom says it does the same thing to her. I drink iced tea and coffee all the time so its not like i'm not used to caffiene.

It could very well be the amount of caffine in the tea. Keep in mind that caffine drinks in Europe tend to be very very strong. Espresso is a good example.

Hmmm. Maybe it was the type of tea that she brought for you to try. Did you drink it on an empty stomach? If not, do you think it could have been something you ate instead of the tea? There's really no way to pinpoint what caused it unless you recreate the situation and try different things (or even try to drink the tea once more) to see what really happened.
Sorry that's not more of a focused answer.... hard to say exactly what happened.

LOL!

I'm from England and we drink a LOT of tea as a nation.
My nan (grandma) drinks about 50 cups or more a day. My mum drinks it a lot too and I have since I was little, I never get shaky or weak. It's a comfort drink for me. I dip cookies in hot tea and eat them soggy when I am feeling upset lol.

I think it's just a reaction to the amount of caffeine in hot tea. If you drink it more often, it won't have the same effect.

If it was "European" tea (I don't mean grown in Europe just the kind they drink) it may be stronger then what your used to in the states. Or....maybe he put something in it that shouldn't be in there.

caffene makes some people fel like that. if one of your parents feel that way, it is likely you will too. caffene isnt good anyway, so nothing to worry about, just avoid it. =)
