I feed my dog plenty but whenever I am eating she stands there with this look on her face that is as serious as cancer. She wants the food that's on my place (currently a croissant) even though her little belly is full of dog food. She is really pleading with her eyes. Why?

As the animal behaviouralist Dr. Stanley Coran says, "If we let them, dogs would do only two things: eat and sleep."

I know it's hard, (owned dogs all my life), but just try to ignore the sweetie while you eat. Human food is NOT for dogs and will affect them badly. Just remind yourself, she may look cute while begging, but she won't look cute throwing up or in the vet's office, while you are being lectured on the dangers of feeding dogs human food.

"Most dogs are natural gluttons. In nature, many animals don't know when their next meal will be, so they literally eat as much as they can every time they can. Your dog is normal...all dogs beg like that."
this answer is correct, but also they must work for the food they recieve. if you look back at a pack of wolves, you will notice that they "walk in a pack to hunt" they WORK to get there food. then once they get there food, the pack leader gets his full share. and doesnt matter if there full they still will eat until everything is gone. doesnt mean its because they dont have saran wrap to save it for later. is because they will never know when they will get there next meal. i advice you to walk your dog for atleast 20-30 minutes before giving him any food or water. he has to work for the meal he recieves from his "pack leader" and no they dont just eat and sleep. again observe a pack of homeless dogs or wolves and you will see that they work, eat, play, rest, and reproduce. all by the order of the pack leader. so if you want to avoid her (or him) begging for your food, be the leader. walk her and THEN feed her. now its your turn to eat. make her face away or send her to another distance, but not OUT of the room, she needs to be in the same room as the pack leader while hes eating. if you see a pack leader in the dogs, they stay at his distance as he eats his full share. THEN let them eat the remaining. it takes time and practice to dont give up..
good luck
:D

She is just begging for food.
Don't feed her from the table. That is a bad habbit and dogs don't need table scraps.
If it bothers you get a baby gate and put her in another room.

You have fed your dog during your meals in the past. She has just learned that anytime YOU eat, there can be something good there for her as well.
Never feed your dog from the table. Period.

Just because
it's just like a child who can't eat their dinner but always has room for dessert or always has room for the sweets.
