Reyka Vodka, hands down. It's out of Borgarnes, Iceland, which is in the western portion of the country.

It's been hailed as a "green" vodka for a variety of reasons.

1) The distillery is powered by clean geothermal energy. The stills are heated by steam that's transported to the distillery through stainless steel pipes.

2) They don't have to treat the water since it's naturally demineralized.

3) They use lava rocks for a filtration system, as opposed to most vodka makers who use charcoal.

And after all that, it tastes brilliant. Reyka's so clean and smooth -- fantastic, brilliant taste. On a personal note, it's the only vodka I've ever been able to drink straight (I tend to despise vodka, but not this one!). Plus, it's fairly inexpensive. A bottle of Reyka might set you back $20.

Here's the info from the back of the bottle:

"The word Reyka derives from the ancient Icelandic word for steam – it is geothermal steam drawn from the center of the earth that powers Iceland's first and only vodka distillery. This hand crafted, small batch vodka uses water drawn from a 4,000 year old lava field, that requires no treatment or demineralization before it is blended with our vodka. After distillation in our Carter-Head Still we filter Reyka through lava rock collected from local volcanic fields giving our vodka its characteristic Icelandic flavor."

Also, check out their cheeky website. I think they have a really cute and clever ad campaign.
