My husband is very selfish. The only thing that matters to him is his family, his job, football and alcohol. i love you very dearly and i know he loves me too. But if I was to hurt myself, get ill or grow disabled, he would not be there for me. He has no patience. WHen a person married someone they hope for a secure life and hope to aid each other at times of difficulties....i dont think mine would do that. WHat shall i do?

I'm very sorry to hear of your plight sweetheart, I guess in time we all discover what the people around us are really like. I believe that you deserve better but should at least try and work it out before going your own separate ways.

All the luck in the world.

communicate! Does he know how you feel, you said you know he loves you so he obviously cares about your life. Maybe he thinks you are happy as you are, i'm sure if you did need him he would be there for you, he just doesn't realise how you feel. Try spending more time together, go out etc. and you will not feel so alienated, he's maybe just taking you fo granted.

He wasn't always this way, was he? If he was, I doubt that you'd have married him, right? Bottom line - if you wish to save your marriage, then work on it. If you don't think it's worth it, then get out and find someone who'll care for you the way that you deserve to be care for...
