In your little black book it says.
Genesis Chapter 4 Verse 15

If thou shall not kill, then why is this said by the lord?

And the lord said unto him, Therefore
whosoever slayeth Cain,vengence shall
be taken on him sevenfold. And the lord set
a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should
kill him.

Does anyone see that this is a contradiction or what?
Why is it no you can't see these contradictions?
As I have said before I mean this with respect, I'm not passing judgement.

To riff the only sign of mental illness on here is by you for not reading in between the lines.
Just passing the bits that don't fit your needs.
To all of those that have said there is no contradiction read it again you may find it.

Because in the beginning of this false religion the authors gave more interest in destroying the enemy. After finding that that doesn't work, over time the interest was in destruction by assimilation.

Just because the 10 commandments says thou shall not kill, The word kill means to murder, Now you try your best to twist scriptures around, at the time of Cain the 10 commandments was not even written yet, But as you try to make it sound as God says not to kill & then God says anyone that will kill Cain, Stop & see how you ask this question, Cain had already killed his brother Abel. Therefore there is no contridictions here.

I don't know. Maybe it's just me. How do you possibly get a "contradiction" out of this? Why do you ignorant fools constantly search the very book you say you hate so much for any hint of "contradiction", only to forever come up so dreadfully short every single time? You know, you atheists are seriously exhibiting signs of some type of mental illness, and you should probably stop now while you still have some semblance of a "mind" left.

"In your little black book"; how utterly cliche.

Roman,
Our GOD and FATHER marked Cain so that all would know he was NOT to be KILLED. He was a farmer who had disobeyed and KILLED his brother and as a result, GOD made it difficult for him to farm and never to be taken in by others. You need to read and study before YOU pass Judgment on that which YOU do NOT understand. Have a nice day.
Thanks,
Eds

There's no contradiction. The commandment refers to murder. Not all killing is murder.

And God putting a mark on Cain to keep him from being killed isn't an instruction to kill anybody.

Thou shalt not kill then he protected Cain from anyone killing him, sorry I miss the contradiction. Oh because the lord says he will judge whoever kills someone? Hey that's why the law says thou shalt not kill.

It is not what you think, the bible cannot be read by anybody, and just automaticaly be understood. Things also cannot be taken out of context, which without looking in the bible looks like what you have done. Something like this I would ask a pastor and see what he has to say.

the definition of murder, as far as the Bible goes, is the taking of INNOCENT life.... i hear this argument all the time on here.... back in that day, the punishment for sin was death.... so, he was not innocent.
oh and p.s.... the only one not reading between the lines is you... you are just looking for a contradiction.... God doesnt want just anyone to be able to read and understand the Bible.... he wants you to seek him first, then you get wisdom and understanding... i mean, really, what could it hurt you by only trying?

uggghhh.... is granny annie forom the south?? she sure talks like it...... if she is, no wonder ppl think we are beligerent, ignorant hillbillies.

There are just reasons for killing. Maybe like when someone is shooting at you or about to. I'll deal with the sin aspect later but save my behind now. If someone were to, say, harm one of your children. What would you do? Stand by....... Neither did God.

When are you people gonna give over and stop regarding a mythological explanation as a scientific fallacy?

AIN'T NO ADAM. AIN'T NO EVE. SO THERE AIN'T NO CAIN OR ABEL!

Now is that simple enough for you? I mean, they're ALL words of one syllable. How much more basic can one get?!

The ONLY point to this part of the tale is that one is bound to honor one's God by honoring one's kinfolk, and NOT killing them! Obviously this had meaning to the early Hebrews. You think the Mafia invented "vendetta", the blood feud? Think again!
