Slim fast works. The only reason it works is because it operates on the basis of only eating ONE proper meal a day. So if you only eat one proper meal a day then OF COURSE you will lose weight.
Let me give you some advice about losing weight:
1. Don't try to lose it too fast. 1 - 2 lbs per week is about usual. You will notice you lose the most weight the first week because it's all water.
2. Take regular exercise. Regular exercise is a great way to lose weight. You don't have to join a gym or anything - just go for walks, or take up cycling, or even swimming.
3. Eat a healthy balanced diet. Avoid snacking in between meals, and if you do feel hungry and need a snack, stick to fruit and stuff - avoid junk foods like crisps etc.

It's not effective. Some people have lost weight with it, but barring signifcant lifestyle changes, the weight eventually comes back. A better move is to recognize that weight loss has both a physical AND a psychological side to it. Physically, an increase in the amount of physical activity you undertake will help increase your metabolism and burn calories...psychologically actually eating something (such as a small bowl of soup) can give you the feel of having a real meal, but with reduced caloric intake. Also, have a salad made with romaine at least once a day. It's filling, has more nutrients than does iceberg and is very low calorie. You see, weight loss is basically a math problem: Take in less calories than you expend, and you will lose weight. Weight loss isn't a "diet" thing...it's about eating right, and about portion control. Sometimes you can eat more, or eat something that isn't weight-loss oriented, but after, just go back to what you'd been doing and don't obsess on "falling off the wagon." An occasional one-meal break from the routine is good for you mentally. Just make sure you exercise regularly (and not with those weird devices they advertise on late-night cable channels...get some good shoes and walk! That's the best way to start, then after you're feeling up to it, get some light weights and use those to start firming up...but ALWAYS start lightly and work into it. You'll achieve success that way, and won't burn out on exercise), eat smaller portions of the right things (that's all the pre-packaged stuff is, anyway: small portions of the right things. Do it yourself and save money), and you'll lose that weight. Worked for me.

Waste of money beside you lead a busy life and Slim Fast wouldn't give you the energy you need. However having said that ... If you were to replace say lunch time with Slim Fast shake and a couple of fruits! That wouldn't be so bad.
Really best way to lose weight has to be ... Eat sensibly and exercise! Boring i know but it's the only thing that works long term.

Just give your body a bit of time you have just had a baby happy mummy by the way.No slim-fast is not good try drinking pukka detox tea that helps get rid of any unwanted waste and instead of tea or coffee try fruit tea's it cuts some off the fats and excess water due to pregnancy.Also if you get some flax's oil that is good for cooking with or take one spoon of it a day would not recommend it though as it made me gag but for cooking its great and just grill food and don't snack you will lose pounds. It's not particularly healthy or filling so its hard work to stick to a diet with it.
The contents are almost identical to their 'Build up'.
Slim fast is to be used instead of a meal to loose weight and build up with one to gain weight.
Buy whichever you can find cheapest if you must use it, but you would be better sticking to a 1000 / 1500 calories a day of things you like with a bundle of fruit and veg to 'fill' you and take the edge off of the hunger.

I done slim fast - its like a quick fix really, I lost about 8 pounds in 2 weeks which isn't bad but you could also probably do that with just a low cal, more exercise diet. Try and get out walking with your new baby, that with a low call diet like weight watchers (their food is readily available and more substantial than SF) and you should see results fairly quickly.

For me, I would say total waste of money - just try to stick to a low fat variety diet - lots of fresh fruit and veg and get out with the pram (obviously babe in it!!!) and you will see results. Alot of people lose weight initially on slim fast only to put it back on (and more)

Yes you are. Eat a normal healthy diet and you will loose the excess pounds. Unfortunately you will never get back your pre-pregnancy figure if this is your first child because your muscles have stretched. Be happy and content with your beautiful baby and good luck to you.

I agree with Nicky. I tried it and afterwards I still felt hungry. Not good long term. A low fat and calorie diet and plenty of exercise is the only good way to lose weight.
