It kinda sounds as if she might have some broken ribs. Do you know of anyone who would have kicked her, or stepped on her either by accident or in a fit of anger ?

Sounds like she has an injury of some sort. I'd take her to the vet and tell them, she might have some sort of internal injury or something wrong with an organ. It might be nothing, but get it checked out anyway, you don't want it to be serious and ignore it.

she could of eaten something, is sick or got hurt in some way. you should call a vet and carefully take her there soon! such a dramatic change from very playful to sitting in a corner is not good!

It sounds to me like she is in pain. She may be have an injury.
Since she is behaving differently and is in pain when you pick her up I really suggest getting her to a vet to be checked.

How old is she? Did this come on suddenly, her obvious discomfort when held?

If so, then she IS in pain or sick or both.
Take her to vet if within 24 hrs. she's still like this.
Something then is definitely wrong.

Has she hurt herself, maybe strained something? I think a vets visit would be best.
