Desalination Plants are not constructed to operate as Power Facilities!

Desalination Plants, located on coastlines, draw water into the facility and via a process system convert the intake sea water into fresh water. Residue being returned to the sea.

As indeed do ocean liners plying the seas.

For power it usually has its own independent power generation units (turbines) or is supplied from a power house adjacent to the facility, or by overhead cable supply from a distant power source.
