Absolutely not! Small pieces of bones can cause all sorts of problems. For instance, they can get caught in the throat or the teeth. Sharp pieces can damage a vital organ. They can cause all kind of internal injury. I once had to take my dog on a emergency trip to the vet . A friend had given her some chicken , and didnt bother removing the bone. Next thing I know my dog is unable to close her mouth. Not knowing what was wrong with her I took her to the vet. Upon examining her he found a piece of chicken bone lodged inbetween her teeth . He told me to never , ever give a dog chicken without first removing the bone. So take it from someone who has experienced the pitfalls of dogs versus chicken bones firsrthand . Always remove the bone from chicken before you give it to your dog.

Dogs can choke on the bones, so it isn't a good idea. The reason they generally choke is because they bite the bones, shattering them, and then they get stuck in their throats. Tiny bones will probably not get chewed, but could still end up lodged in the dog's throat. All in all - not a great idea to give chicken bones to dogs.

If the bones are RAW, then YES it's okay. Raw bones break into crumbly pieces with crystallized edges. They're great for keeping your dog's teeth clean, provide extra calcium, and of course make your dog very happy!

If they are COOKED, then NO it's not. Cooked bones break into splintered shards that can create internal tears and punctures.

If its raw, then yes. Cooked no.

Raw bones don't break off and splinter the way cooked ones do.

To all the people that said OMG No, he'll choke. Dogs can choke on kibble to. Ever listen to a dog eat and hear that "harf" sound? Guess what, your dog just choked on its kibble. With anything we do there is a risk, but keep this in mind, several dogs die every year from choking on kibble, while there still are no cases of a dog dieing from choking on its raw diet.

if the chicken is RAW, then yes. Just be sure its a large enough peice that the dog has to chew it.. if its small enough that the dog could try to swallow it whole, it poses a choking hazard.

Cooked bones splinter.. raw bones are digestable. Its probably the best meal your dog will ever have!

NO!!!!!!!
NEVER feed dogs chicken bones, or any other bird bones, because bird's bones are hollow ( so they are light enough to fly). The bones splinter and break very easily when chewed on, and these small, sharp pieces can hurt your dog.

Raw bones are fine, stay away from any type of a cooked bone. They tend to splinter after being cooked and it can cause a lot of damage internally.

not really no, feeding dogs bones of any size can be hazzardous to them....even large bones have the potential to splinter & break & get lodged in the throat...small bones can do this without having to break at all..Chicken bones are very fragile bones & break easily so they are potentially very dangerous to your dog
