Whether or not it's religion, young kids need morals and standards. Our country is into too much "letting your kid go wild or you as a parent might get arrested for imposing on kid's rights."

Teens and kids who goes to church have a moral relativistic deist view of modern Christianity. In this postmodern and post postmodern era, they believe there is no absolute truth, and religion is a bandage.
What kids need is Jesus. They need to be saved from God's judgment just like the rest of us for we have all sinned and fallen short to be in God's presence. On judgment day, Jesus is all we've got. His righteousness imputed to our account, not the works of our own flesh, justifies us entering heaven.
Only holy people can be with the Holy God. We're not Holy. We lie, cheat, steal etc. God needs to cleanse our sins and give us His righteousness. And God did that on the cross by paying our fine of breaking God's laws; and if we forsake our sinful lifestyle and trust in Jesus to save us, then God will save. So the answer is YES.

If the parents aren't using that religion to indoctrinate their children, then I don't see it as a bad thing. On the other hand, I think it's just as wrong for parents to pretend they are religious when in fact, they're not and are only putting on appearances. Those are the parents who drop their children off at church and pick them up later or those who tell their children how to believe but don't live by those examples themselves. People should not pretend to be things they're not.

The first thing is friendship and love.
Then obedience and tolerance.
Then knowledge through kindness and if religion helps that is fine, but nothing is to be forced upon the youth they are to choose with open mind and self-preservation.
They are developing and they should be allowed to develop as individuals as they are created. Amen!

I believe like many others that indocrinating children in a religion when they are too young to make their own intellectually disciminating decision is a kind of abuse. I remember seeing one post on here from a child whos pastor had told her that she would burn in hell if she did not believe everything he said, and so would any of her friends that did not believe. Now if I had taken that same young girl and shown her a few hours of snuff movies I think that would have been seen as abuse. So should what the pastor did - it was evil.

who needs religion? All Christians know that we actually have a RELATIONSHIP with Christ, and He loves us unconditionally. It's good to point kids in the right direction, but don't force it on them or they'll get the wrong idea.

i grew to become into raised interior the Catholic Church, and that i in no way ever whilst quickly as heard every physique interior Church say something derogatory against homosexuals. I in no way heard a sermon on it. I in no way heard a element approximately it in catechism. It grew to become right into a non-issue so some distance as my journey is going. I lived in a family that grew to become into what may be talked approximately as extremely tolerant....I in no way heard a bigoted remark that positioned yet another down the entire time i grew to become into becoming up, interior my family's kin. The Catholic Church interior the Nineteen Fifties, Nineteen Sixties, and Seventies, or perhaps the 1880s in no way even stated issues concerning being gay. So no person in those generations grew to become into taught by utilising the Church as childrens to despise gay human beings. this complete element is springing from some 'new' source, some newly created controversy that interior the previous did no longer exist. in no way as quickly as did I hear that a gay individual grew to become into damned, in no way as quickly as. and that i nevertheless do no longer hear it those situations I attend Mass. I basically hear approximately loving others. it particularly is it. some fake rumors and created conflicts are being perpetrated by utilising mass media, and hardship makers, this, I understand.

I don't think they need the added stress on top of growing up, avoiding drugs, sex and alcohol, puberty, peer pressure and school. When they reach college age, I think they should be able to determine whether or not they're curious enough to ask for help with questions.

I believe that religion is spiritual abuse. So not only should young kids not be subjected to it but adults should give it up.
