OK, maybe now the best question to ask on yahoo, but maybe. So here goes. I had a CAT scan on my own accordance because I have such bad mental problems I felt a brain scan would be a smart choice. I have incredible ups and downs, I have been hallucinating since I was 4 yrs old, ghosts and what not at night, paranoia, etc. The brain scan showed abnormalities. Ok, so my doctor suggests I have MS. I cannot feel half my back, like its numb. So I go to a neurologist who orders an MRI. Its confirmed that it looks like I have MS. Then I was given sensory tests which proved my eye sight and hearing are fine, the only thing off is that the left side of my body isnt communicating properly with my brain. Now it doesnt look like I have MS. I have blood work done and a spinal and nothing related to MS is found. Doctor has no idea what is going on. Severe abnormalities deep in my brain, and complete numbess on half my back, I feel like ****, and mental problems. Any ideas?? plz

No my finger tips arnt numb. And please dont answer with something like... go see another doctor. Doctors dont seem to know everything, I want multiple ideas. I am not coming here as a treatment option asking everyone, I am more curious than anything because at this point I am debating whether to pursue the answer with a doctor or just let it be.

I find it odd that they would confirm MS by MRI only to recind it based on secondary tests.
Generally MS is suspected from you testing positive on a MRI for demylinization. Demylinizetion causes lesions in the myelin sheath. Which in turn causes the symptoms in MS and Some Dstrophies.
So did they see demylinization or not?? If they did then you have MS or a Dystrophy. If they did not see demylinization they never should have decided you have MS.
As to the secondary tests on sight and hearing, these tests do not mean you dont have MS or a Dystrophy it merely means that it is not presenting in this fasion. Or that the condition has not progressed to include those symptoms yet.
I would definately seek a second opinion. Preferably with a Neurologist who specializes in MS and or Dystrophies.
And find out whether or not the MRI showed demylinization.
Obviously something very serious is going on with your health so if you are unhappy with your current doctors find a new one.
My Best Wishes

Great on not having MS,
but are your fingers numb?

I agree with Nic.
Can they do a lower body MRI of
your Spine and back area?
Not a Dr., just something I saw on TV.

Your not Mental, because Mental people
seldom truly admit to it.

Maybe the reason for the hallucinations
has been on going sense childhood.

I Prayed for you.

Sounds like you had a stroke! If you are numb and can't feel one side of your body then it may be a stroke.

P.S: I am not a neurologist, i am a podiatrist, seek medical help for a correct answer!
