I saw someone else asking this earlier, so I figured I'd show pictures of my boy, and see if anybody has any ideas.

And no, even though he looks like a chupacabra in the second shot, I'm pretty sure his bloodline is chupacabra-free.

He was adopted from the Humane Society shelter a few months ago, and he is about 10 or 11 months old. He weighs 58lbs, and his fur is a really pretty copper color with blonde roots, and he has black on his muzzle and around his eyes. His ears really don't stick up like the second picture suggests. He's lying on his side so they're flopped back. The man who brought him and his littermates in said their mother was a pure bred Redbone Coonhound, but the father was apparently a travelling salesman ;)

My own personal guess would be mostly Redbone hound, some shepherd, maybe some Lab, and tiny bit of pit somewhere along the line.

Oh gosh, he does look like a Ridgeback, doesn't he? LOL I never even thought about that one, because we don't see those too often around here.

When he gets angry or defensive. the hair stands straight up along his spine, too.

Looks to be all hound. Even if there is some shepherd or lab mixed in, the coat is definately a hound coat--short, smooth, and not a lot of undercoat.
I would guess the dad maybe had some Ridgeback in him.

I`d say ur handsome boy is mostly Lab with maybe a bit of some type of hound mixed in. I see no Shepherd or pit bull in him what-so-ever. He could indeed be a Redbone Coonhound with yellow Lab mix, whatever, he is a fine looking dog and very lucky that u adopted him from the shelter. A life saved, Bless you.

O.K., well I see Rhodesian Ridgeback & MAYBE some hound, but I wouldn't put as my first choice. I have owner a black & tan coonhound & also a redbone, currently, one of our 9 dogs is a bloodhound. I myself do not see the hound but, that's just me...

When I look at the first picture I see that beautiful expression of a Lab and a bit of German Shepherd.
The second photo I see Rhodesian Ridgeback.
Beautiful dog, so sleek and elegant looking.

Looks like a pitbull terrier and a lab mix. Maybe a heinz 57 mix though of a lab, pit bull and a shepard mix.

I like the traveling sales man bit. My dogs father was one too.

He feels like a bully form breed to me. So i might say an American Pitbull Terrier mixture. As to what else is in him, by using fact of his narrow physique, besides by using fact the way the ears are set, Whippet is a danger.

I'd have said there's some Lab in there! He's a lovely boy - second shot particularly funny!
