Fat soluble vitamins after being taken will be absorbed in the small intestine along with dietary fats. These vitamins are usually absorbed in fat globules that travel through the lymphatic system of the small intestines and into the general blood circulation within the body.In doesn't necessarily mean that you have to eat fats at the same time when taking vitamins.

However if your fat intake is too low it will result to poor absorption of fat soluble vitamins. Some diseases such as cystic fibrosis, ulcerative colitis, or Crohn's disease as well as taking some medicines that alter fat absorption in the intestine may also result to poor absorption of these vitamins.

So to benefit from fat soluble vitamins, you need to have the required fat intake. Please be reminded that these fat soluble vitamins are stored in the body tissues and are released slowly so taking too much vitamins of these kind can end up having a dangerous condition called hypervitaminosis.
