Yes she could...She could bleed to death from a ruptured esophagus, or die from electrolyte imbalance--which causes heart failure!! Another effect of bulimia is errosion of teeth enamel, therefore being more suseptible to getting cavities and gum disease....Not to mention the mental Hell that comes along with Bulimia!! Encourage your friend to get help...The sooner she nips this in the bud, the less harder it will be to overcome this issue...I am a recovering Anorexic/Bulimic, and I had to get to go inpatient for help...As well as outpatient treatment (afterwards) for continuing care.
A really good book on Bulimia: "The Deadly Diet" by Terence J. Sandbek.

It's pretty bad because the sufferer can hide it much longer than an anorexic can. That's because most of them are able to maintain a normal body weight or even be a little overweight. I have a close relative who suffered from bulimia. She would gorge herself on food and then make herself throw up afterwards. Bulimia can cause damage to the esophagus and erode tooth enamel. My sister had to get nearly all of her teeth capped as a result of this disease. I don't know how she was able to overcome bulimia but it's possible she still suffers from it to this day. Many people can suffer from it for years, even decades.

actually yes, you can die from it..my suggestion quit asking about anorexia and bulimia and get help.
you can die from it because your body isn't getting enough nutrition so you will become a true skelator and die.
eat food, quit the anorexia and bulemia stuff; its not attractive by anyone's means. its rather gross and when i see an anorexic girl or a girl who has bulemia i just want to like buy them a box of twinkies and mcdonalds and donuts and fatty foods.

Yes bulimia is a serious disease. I have personal experience from my cousin's condition. She is a poor soul with no teeth as a result and has the body of a 60 year old due to her condition and she is only 29 going on 30. Please get your friend help. It can be fatal. I'm sure your friend is worth helping.

Eating disorders have one of the highest death rates of all mental illnesses. The Eating Disorders Association (UK) estimates a 10% mortality rate. An 18% mortality rate has been suggested for Anorexia Nervosa.[1] In addition to the risk of suicide, “death can occur after severe binging in bulimia nervosa as well”.[18] For perspective, these death rates are higher than those of some forms of cancer.
However, the mortality rate related to bulimia is quite low, when compared to anorexia nervosa.[2]

Yes, she can die from it. If you care about her, you need to tell an adult what she is doing, so she can get help. The longer she goes without help, the more messed up she will be, physically and mentally. With bulimia, it's harder for people to tell how sick she is until there is permanent damage.

Absolutely yes.
Aside from her acid burnt esophegus and acid etched teeth and her poor old stomach muscles and lack of proper nourishment ...yeah it can kill.
What is her problem. Does she hate food. Is she trying to lose weight. Does she look at her skin and thinks it is fat.
She has a warped outlook for sure. Up to you to help her find her reason
Ask why.

bulimia is serious mental disease that affects the body in really negative ways, like malnutrition and the wearing away of the esophagus. i think your friend should consider going to a psychiatrist, like i said, it is mostly psychological. i wish the best of luck to your friend.

Yes she can die from this. She will also take the enamel off of her teeth and erode her esophogus too.

yes you can. the acid that comes up when you vomit eats at your gums and makes your teeth look disgusting. Also, you start puking up parts of your stomach sometimes. You CAN die from it.
