It has been well over a month since I had my wisdom teeth taken out. I just now noticed today that there is a small black covering on my gum where my bottom left wisdom tooth was removed. It is not sore at all. I also have good oral hygiene. I brush twice a day, and usually floss everyday or every other day. I also use mouthwash daily.

Is this just a scab from the old blood clot or is this something more serious. And remember, it has been about 2 months since my wisdom teeth were taken out.

EDIT: Ok, I went to my oral surgeon today and he just pulled it out. It was just a blood clot that my body was trying to get rid of, by pushing it out.

It is better for you to ask the dentist yourself. He or she will give you a thorough and detailed explanation of the black spot lying on your gum.

Coudl be a scab.

Could be something stuck in the depression where the tooth was.

Definately is something to have the dentist look at.

inside that black spot is a possibility of food deposit. They usually give you a little syringe to wash it out. It could also be the stitches or a number of things, go see your dentist.
