Hey guys got a question for you. I know a UV light shows blood that someone has tried to cover up, but will it work on dried blood? I found what looks like dried blood on a picture frame I bought, and I want to knowfor sure so I know how to clean/disinfect it.

Also, does anyone know where I can get a hand-held UV Light like they use on CSI?

Thanks...

First of all a 10% bleach solution will clean up blood and other bodily fluids while disinfecting the surface, will also clean many other "stains" from surfaces. There is no guarantee that you will remove the stain completely no matter what it is. You do not need to determine what is on the frame if your only concern is how to clean it, the bleach solution will take care of it all.

Blood won't glow by itself in blacklight as far as I know. You need luminol: http://science.howstuffworks.com/luminol1.htm
Doesn't seem worth it to me.

In any case, hydrogen peroxide (you can get it at the pharmacy) is good for cleaning up blood, both for disinfection and stain removal. If there's any substantial amount of blood there, you may see it foam a little.

Really, I think you may be worrying too much.
