Nope, I worked for years without ever having a bank account. I'd just cash my check at a check cashing place and pay in cash for everything. I do have one now though, because it makes things alot easier, especially with direct deposit.

Generally companies prefer to pay electronically. It is cheaper and easier for them. No printing or signing checks or trying to keep cash secure.

It will depend on the policy of the company. Small employers probably prefer to pay cash (so they can avoid tax in some way) or checks (because it is easier when you are employing one or two people).

But the trend is towards electronic payment and jobs that pay by check are likely to decrease over time.

No. You can get paid by check and take it to the bank where the check was issued, or take it to a check cashing place. However, why not get an account?

no...you can take ur check and cashed anywhere ...some employers request for u to have a bank acct since all their payroll is direct deposit..
