So you want a business with no startup costs that you can do from home and will make you lots of money and is 'legit.' There is no such business. Starting a business costs money, even if it is online. Domain registration, site hosting/design, business licenses, etc. Not to mention, it costs quite a bit to join the BBB. First, find out what it is you would LIKE to do, and then see if you can't tailor it into something that fits this ideal you have.
Lots of money. Little work. That is the American dream. Good luck.

Well I have the perfect business idea, it will make you millions and of course I am not going to tell you ...ha
seriously though, there is no business like this. Maybe you don't need money to start it, but it takes time and effort.
But some things to try is finding local products (jams, woodcraft etc and brokering their sale). That is, you talk to the supplier and agree on a lower price, while you arrange the sale and shipping over the Internet. No money required, just a business relationship.

I work for an on-line business that is nationally well known and can make you a lot of money. However, there is no "legit" business out there that doesn't require money. All home based businesses require something out of pocket. I paid $95 to get mine started. But, in giving that up my company created my websites and provided me a lot of training on how to be successful. They work hard to not let you fail, and I think it is important to have good support when beginning your business. Also, I get benefits...dental, medical, and vision. And the BBB....companies pay to be on that. It doesn't make them great if they are a member. It is important though if they are in good standing with the US Chamber of Commerce.
