Ask if the local newspaper will interview the activities director about the needs, or put a notice in the paper that you're seeking items. Also ask other nonprofits if they have items they can't use that were donated to them. If you have a Target or Walmart locally, ask if they have some way of asking for gift cards or contributions that can be used at their stores.

You can go to most all of the larger chain stores, IE, grocery stores included, and ask about their "Charitable Giving Programs". They all have them because it is a community plus when they can show what they give back to the communities. The same can be said for the larger churches in the area. Some even have outreach programs to assist a volunteer group giving of their time.

If you have a central activities sponsored facility with even the smallest of staff a few phone calls and/or emails will open the doors for you.

This comes from personal experience.

If you are active in your church as a member just try to ask them to lend a hand for the healthcare. Tell them what your healthcare needs to continue the good deeds in the community. Or sell them something else cookies candies or home made rice cake too. Many unusual things that may be of importance to them. Then the profit will be use for the healthcare facility. Ask them their empty bottles, newspapers & plastics & cans.
