I mean, surely it makes sense that if Christians go out into the wilds of South East Asia to spread their stuff to the pacific islanders, how come Atheists didn't try to even up the score? You know.... that's how it works doesn't it? G v E or sommat. (Oh .. that? - Good versus Evil of course - what else)

We have no book that has told us to do that, so why would we. It is religions that all have the mantra of "convert, convert". As your churches, synagogues and mosques rely on your money, you are in constant need of new converts. We don't have overhead, so we don't need them.

If not born to it, people come to our side by intensive learning and many times, massive reading on multiple religions, not just by reading 1 book and calling it a day. So the thoughts are complex and do not lend themselves well to a highly uneducated, struggling populace who desperately wants to believe that doing nothing (what they are already doing) will fix their lives.

Atheism teaches that you are responsible for yourself, if your life sucks then do something to change it. Religion preaches that you are responsible for nothing, and the most work you have to do is pray.

If you were living in the middle of a desert with marauding opposing factions and starving children, which would you choose? The fact that you are still THERE is proof enough of the path you were already on, long before the missionaries showed up.

Spread the word of not believing? I believe the whole basis behind athiesm is the polar opposite of Christianity. Not being an athiest myself, just an opinion, but being the opposite why would you wanna push something on people that 9 times out of 10 find it on their own?

I am neither Atheist nor Christian, but I have never felt the need to shove my beliefs down other peoples throats or threaten them with eternal damnation if they don't believe what I do..

No. Atheism is only discussed when religion is being forced on it. Otherwise, it never comes up.

no, preach that there is no god?

that would be like a religious movement

we aren't organized, we dont need to be

we dont believe in god, why preach about it then?
i see your point, but honestly we are not about forcing our beliefs on others, as some religious groups are all about.

We get converts simply by sitting here and doing nothing. We succeeded on the fact that everything has failed.

Unlike the Christians, I don't waste my time worrying about what others believe to the point where I forcefully try to convert them to my side.
