Or does it matter if it's straight from the freezer to the george forman. I've been defrosting it in the defrost setting on my microwave and taking it out 1/2 to 3/4 defrosted then putting it to cook/george forman. I'm wondering if it will taste different or better any which way.

your right, it says on the bag 'thawing not necessary' - i guess the end product of being cooked won't matter or taste different or won't be noticable

yea i guess you don't really get a lot of control of the foreman grill, it seems dry. maybe i will try defrosting in refridge, or maybe take it out a little sooner on the grill.

I once worked at Jack In The Box, all beef patties come straight from the freezer........throw them on the grill and cook about 3.5 minutes on each side. I'd say the same could be done on your george forman, probably cook them a bit longer though.

Here's a tid bit of info that would make them taste better.....
A lot of people press their burger while cooking it, or after to see if the juices are clear (meat is done).......this is a big no-no, it you have to see the doneness in the center or the juices, use a fork and split it in the middle. Do not press, it drys it out and you lose a lot of flavor.

Hi, I prefer to defrost normally cuz I don't trust micros for defrosting. What I do is take out the meat about 2-3 days before cooking and place it in the refridg. The only bad thing about it is that you cannot make spontaneous dishes that way. I'm a planner. Hope this helps happy cooking :D

Straight for the freezer is fine. It just needs a little more time to cook. I put my seasoning on it frozen, on the grill it goes. Comes out just fine. It will taste a whole lot better without using the microwave.

You should defrost it in your fridge. Otherwise the George Foreman will burn the outside before the center even defrosts. You get much better control of how much you want them cooked if you have them all ready to be heated.

Sometimes I'll cook things while they are still frozen, but you have to cook it at a lower temp or the outside will cook and the inside will still be raw. Also, the meat seems to be juicier if you cook it longer at a lower temp. It doesn't seem to affect the taste.
