I have a sister who was introducted to G12. G12 has consumed her life and is cult like.My sister and I used to be best friends, but she has turned against me and vaguely remembers her past. All of the members of the church have to go to meetings, cell groups, take written tests, and do certain things certain ways 24/7.She still lives with my family but we never see her anymore because she spends almost every day of her life at the church. It worries me because she is currently engaged to marry a guy who is in hopes of becoming a pastor for one of the churches. This is like watching a train wreck and it feels that there's nothing that I can do.Every time I try to talk to her she talks about God and criticizes me for who I am.I do consider myself a Christian, but I dont believe that churches should discriminate or make church about things not envolving religion itself.(with tests, manditory meetings, etc.)I want her to be happy but this is destroying all of our lives.I lost my best friend.

Just did a little research as I was not familiar with G12. But, I am familiar with the cell church set up somewhat which this is patterned after. Basically (in G12...not all cell churches) the individual is brainwashed, starved in encounters, hypnotized, and controlled to the point that they cannot think for themselves. (Read toward bottom of article. ) This makes the mind weaker and the person will submit to things they ordinarily would not.
Like several have said, if she is living at home and is under age....there are still legal things that can be done. It would be a total deprogramming and would take some time. I am sure she would not go willingly either. I don't know the cost on deprogramming but I believe you have another site that would help on that.
More important than that is prayer. God has ALL POWER and even if your sister is too weak to ask for herself ...you can ask for her. Here are 2 promises that you can pray back to God.
1) 1 John 5:16 says you can pray life for someone.
2) 2 Tim.1:7 talks about God giving us a sound mind.
I will also pray these promises for her right now.....and we will see what God can do! Don't forget to thank Him.

G12 Cult

It would certainly be a hateful and unfeeling God and not one deserving on worship or devotion from anyone. Fortunately, Jehovah, the God of the Bible and true Christianity does none of these things. The Bible does teach that certain humans go to heaven and some are there now, but they are not watching humans suffering in hell. The Bible teaches that at death a person is unconscious and sleeping in death in the grave. Those who God sees are unworthy of eternal life, then he simply will stay unconscious and not be resurrected and are spoken of as being in Gehenna, a symbol of eternal destruction-Luke 12:32; Revelation 14:1-3; 20:6; 1 Corinthians 6:2; Revelation 5:10; Ecclesiastes 9:5, 6, 10; John 11:11-14; Matthew 10:28; Luke 12:5 As for those in heaven watching their loved ones or other humans suffering due to various things, they know it is not their job to do anything about this-it is God's. They have full confidence in him and know he can and will help. In heaven they will have witnessed the countless times he has helped humans on earth. They also know that the promised Kingdom of God with Jesus as King will end all suffering -Psalm 56:11; 72:16; Daniel 2:44; Isaiah 11:6-9; 65:21-25; 33:24

G12 is a cult and your sister as many other have been sucked into it. They usually aren't allowed to live with other Christian family members who will try to influence them. They are assigned a partner and together they try to keep each other on track. It is easy to see the mind control that is happening here. But the leaders have brain washed them to think the religion is more important than family that tries to rescue them. She needs deprogramming, and neither you or your family will be able to do it yourselves.

This will take more than just one prayer. This is a battle for keeping her eyes on a false messiah and away from the True Messiah. And as battle, it will take serious heart felt prayer. And when you feel you have no more prayers to offer, that's when you need to let God minister to your heart, to give you strength to pray even more.

Now is the time to find others to stand with you, to sit down with your sister, and continue to expose your sister to the truth. It's been posted here a good website on rescuing one from a cult. That's a good place to start.

But I too will be praying that you are given the strength to fight this battle, that your sister will have her eyes opened to the corruption of His truth, and the courage to break free of her bonds. Not just her, but the man she loves as well. Then the two of them can do exactly what they want - start a new family that worships God.

It seems like this 'G12' might be a type of 'Christian Education'?

If you study, go to classes, take tests, then that is usually a school. Where you have to pay for the education.

I am so sorry about your sister/best friend. I have never heard of this cult before but, there are many out there!

I too, am a Christian and I can only imagine the pain this must bring to you and to others who love her as well.

In as much, let's do some serious praying for your precious sister as we both know that God desires her to come to Him, not to be deceived by anyone!

I will pray for her release from this bondage (cult).
I will pray that her eyes would be open to the deceit.
For her to draw near unto the one true God!
For all relationships to be mended which satan has stolen...oh, but only for a time as prayer is so much more powerful!

You are not alone in this battle for your sister....I will be praying!

I'd say to go to a Whole Bible teaching church and have the Elders anoint your head with oil & and pray with you- this is in the Bible. Please consider it.
Then as a Christian you have Power that Jesus gave to us. Prayer will work wonders. Its a Spiritual Battle so you have to use the spiritual Weapon which is the Word of God. Pray over some oil yourself (or have strong believers help)pray the Blood of Jesus over that oil and put it on the door frames of your home. Put it on all your door ways.
I'll be praying for you and I hope you have people to encourage you in your walk. And you are stenghtened in the Word Everyday!! You should be glad she lives there. I'd also recommend you to go to her room and anoint some stuff of hers and possibly her when she sleeps. I know sounds weird But God works Mysteriously like that.
