I eat tuna because it doesn't have a lot of sugar in it. If I wanted a sandwich with sugar sprinkled in it I would make one from chocolate layer cake because that already contains lots of empty calories. Why sabotage a great tuna sandwich?

I don't eat tuna, but I put a teaspoon of sugar in my chicken salad. I used to put pickle relish but somehow it didn't hold up as long. The sugar was the answer. The chicken salad looks nice too without the bits of green in it.

It is your taste buds. If you like it that way, go for it. My ex boyfriend puts sugar in his beef stew. I thought that was sick. I tasted it and it just made the stew to sweet for me but it wasn't bad. Next time your friend thinks it is unusual for you to put sugar in your tuna, have that person take a little taste. Tell them it is only sugar and it wont hurt them. They might be pleasantly surprised.
