Some mental heatlh medications increase the appetite so that's why some people gain weight when they take them.

I used to take Seroquel and I gained weight. I didn't necessarily crave sweets, I just ate more in general.

It would be a good idea to talk to your doctor about this.

I did not have a lot of luck with Seroquel, too many bad side effects. But sugar cravings can be helped by brushing your teeth. Also, eat healthy sugars, like fruit. If you eat strawberries with Splenda, it is very sweet and not sugary.

I don't know if it is normal, but if you are craving sugar, there is a great alternative... Stevia. It is not a sugar, but an herb. It is sweet, and when used in your coffee (or however you want to use it) it is great for getting rid of sweet cravings. Don't use those artificial sugars, they come with nasty side affects.

its said that a few days before period, girls have craving for sweet food.

i think that if you haven't eaten sweet things for a long time, you will have craving for them too.

i suggest you eat those "sugarfree" candies like Ricola. well, they're sweet but without sugar. i guess they're healthier.

OK...I was thinking about asking my dr. about seriequel (sp) ..but now I won't. I take risperdal for panic attacks.Maybe you should try it instead...fourth mg or half mg daily. It helps me. Also..make sure you don't have diabetes...I've heard you crave sweets and water when you have it.
