I have a strip of amoxicillin bought around a year ago, which expires 2008 pa, but my four year old popped open all the foil covers! I just kept it. Does it lose it's potency or become spoiled?

Just keep the capsules in any tight sealed container or place it in a small clean box then wrap with a plastic. Keep it in a cool room,not in bathroom. Refrigerating is also fine.

Usually, the drug companies make the assurance that the medicines remain effective regardless of storage conditions, so just keep it in a clean and safe place.Nothing to worry about its potency then.

because of the fact the pill is designed to stay intact till it reaches the tummy, swallowing the contents with it would reason some inflammation on the way down and as others have reported may well be too a lot at as quickly as. i've got had a similar concern and grow to be prescribed antibiotic pills that are soluble in water - nevertheless I think of liquid banana flavoured antibiotics are a lot nicer :-)

No. But the gelatin capsules may be spoiled due to exposure. Keep the capsules in a dark dry place and use them.
